SAFE ASHORE IN GREEN COVE SPRINGS

Late May 2014 brought our Bahamas winter to an end. After 3 weeks of relaxation in Hope Town we headed out for Great Sale Cay before making the crossing to Lake Worth in Florida.

Enroute to the Customs Office to clear into the USA we noticed these very deep keeled racing boats in a nearby yard.
Making our way up the ICW we stopped in Cocoa Beach and witnessed a fantastic launch of Falcon 2 rocket carrying GPS satellites into space.

Kelly and Ryan made there way down for a weeks vacation and we made the most of it. We toured Cape Canaveral and the Space Museum.

Next on the agenda was to rent a car and head to Orlando and Disney World. Drive to Orlando??? Yeah right! I hadn't even seen a car in 5 months never mind throw us into the mayhem of high speed traffic in the Orlando area.

Of course was the mandatory stop at Universal Studios to take in Harry Potter.

It was a great week with the kids and soon it was time to make the run back to Jacksonville.

Now, this is the way to load truck cargo onto a ship.

Our first night arriving at the Jacksonville Stadium Marina we had front row seats on our boat to take in a live concert featuring CHICAGO and backed up by the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra.

Well, Wind Warrior 1 is finally emptied out of all our possessions for the past winter, cleaned out and after much preparation she was hauled out of the water at Green Cove Springs Marina.

Now, this is the way to drive a travel lift with a 14 tonne boat in the slings.

Once safely on the trailer Wind Warrior slowly makes her way to the Canada Yard and her resting spot among the other 400 Canadian Boats.

Once she arrives in her designated resting place, the sun shade netting is installed followed by the hurricane tie-down straps. She'll rest comfortably now until we arrive again in January to do it all over again.

THANKS FOR WATCHING.
