New Haven, Conneticut

Today was an awesome day. We left New Bedford four days ago and headed to Bristol, Mass where we met up with the old owner of the boat, Mike, and had a very pleasant layover for a couple days. The weather has been wonderful with temps in the low to mid 80's with lots of sunshine. While in Bristol we rented a car and made the trip down to Wickford, RI to the consignment store and picked up a few items..... for Ron, including a nice fishing rod and stainless reel. Now I just have to get Jan to like fish...

On Sunday morning we left Bristol Yacht club, motored down passed all the millionaire mansions in Newport and headed out to sea and towards New London, Conn. Man what a busy place..... ferries every half hour......ALL NIGHT LONG!! At our mooring it was roll, roll, roll.

This morning we left New London and had a great day in SW winds of 5 knots and seas less than than one foot. We arrived in New Haven, Conn in time for a great BBQ and even better sunset. We were greated by a pudgy lighthouse that reminded us of the pudgy little "cake boss" guy, Buddy.

Did I mention that the temps down here are in the range of 80F so the order of the day is shorts with or without Tee-Shirt.

The forecast is much the same for tomorrow so we're off at first thing for the Approaches to Hell's Gate at this end of East River, New York. We'll stay there for the day to await a favorable current into New York City on Wednesday.
